Please send comments you would
like posted to alexis@canyonrecords.com,
thank
you!
I would like to thank you very much for the wonderful new album of Nakai/Eaton/Clipman (Dancing into Silence) heavenly music which I have received recently and which was accepted very warmly by Russian audience. I really appreciate your assistance and support of my program. In my opinion, Canyon Records is remarkable for its prominent musical taste and the finest selection of repertoire. I have no doubt that my listeners and I will be able to sense all those positive vibrations which your artists are putting into every note of their melodies. I am pretty sure that good music is an excellent remedy that helps us notice that our world is not that bad. ~All the best and good luck,

I'm writing you this brief note just to say Thank You for your generosity and wondrous kindness. I received my most recent order from you, and I was pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed to find your gift of "Voices Across The Canyon," Volume 1. I didn't have this CD and it is a welcomed addition to my Native American CD library. I'm profoundly grateful to have gracious, kind-hearted folks like you in my life. Again I thank you for the pleasing gift. Keep up all the good work at Canyon Records in offering the most choice, superlative Native American recordings to all your many loyal customers. May The Great Creator forever bless each and every one of you. Thank you. ~Sincerely yours,
Douglas R. Causey After just returning from the 2009 Santa Fe Indian Market, where I was introduced to (for me)an entirely new field of music (Native American), I feel compelled to write and say WOW. What an unexpected treat! I returned home to Newfoundland in eastern Canada with several CD's both for myself and friends. Carlos Nakai ... Gabriel (Ayala) ... that cute young flutist/hoop dancer (name escapes me right now (Estun-Bah) even though I purchased 3 of his cd's), all left a deep impression. I look forward to exploring your website in detail and delving deeper into this wonderful music. ~Nancy Shouse
St. John's, Newfoundland (rocky island in the Atlantic) I was so excited I got my cds today I ordered them wed & I got them soooooooooooo fast, Ive already listened to the 1 & LOVE it, as I knew I would, its the Voyagers 1 the Indian/Jewish AWESOME. I've heard R. Carlos Nakai on moodscapes the satellite music station MANY times & love everything he does he is so gifted. The other day I heard it again & noticed that it was Canyon Record label checked it out on the net & wala. Thank u again for the wonderful timing & for sharing with the world such wonderful uplifting music. Have a very blessed independence day. ~Shalom,
Bobbie Jo Dundee, OH By the way I'm a fan of your product
and I think it's great that you do quality recordings of Native
music. I was also wondering if you could do more recordings of Southern
Style
powwow drum groups, it seems they are not as represented in your
catalog as Northern
Style
groups. Both styles are great, but I think we
could do with some more Southern Style as Canyon
Records is the
definitive Native recording label with a huge influence on Indian
Country and one of the few labels that makes powwow songs available -
and thereby readily accessible - on iTunes. Black Bear Creek of
Oklahoma is a great sounding Southern drum group by the way, maybe they
could be recorded.

I really enjoy the soothing nature of the Native American Flute music fron "In Beauty We Return". On Sunday, I head up to Oskkosh, to the Jesuit Retreat House. There I'll help direct Jesuits on their annual eight-day retreat. This music puts me in an appropriate mood for a retreat environment. Here in Wisconsin spring is in full bloom, with birds singing merrily and squirrels happily bouncing about! The flute music seems to echo the sounds of nature outside. ~Peace!
Jeff LaBelle, Ph.D., S.J. Acquaintance with Canyon Records
uncovered absolutely new,
till now unknown, world of the Native American music for me. I
was taken unawares about the diversity of this music. From the Canyon
Records artists I prefer Robert
Tree
Cody, R.
Carlos
Nakai, Jay
Begaye,
Louie
Gonnie and Randy
Wood. I listen gladly to traditional songs
of various tribes, too. I am much obliged to Canyon Records
employees, especially to Kristen Butler, about possibility of getting
Native
American music CDs.With the best wishes from Latvia,
Laimdota (Shown in the picture on the left along with a blanket she made.) "I can't thank the staff of Canyon Records enough for keeping our native voices alive and strong for generations to come. You are doing wonderful work!" ~Thanks Camille!
I have Native American (I really miss
being able to just say 'Indian',) heritage, specifically the Costinoan
Tribe situated in Carmel, CA. When I married my husband, I had as
traditional a Native American ceremony as I could pull together, and it
was truly beautiful! I played your "Canyon
Trilogy" album while
the guests filed in, and then later during the reception. I know
sales must've got up, because so many people asked where they could get
a copy of the CD! :)
Your music is so magnificent, and I recently had the chance to introduce my youngest son, now 13, to your music with the purchase of "In Beauty We Return". He has some special needs, and has a Hamartoma (benign, Thank God and the Great Spirit,) tumor near his brain stem, that occasionally interferes with the flow of fluid and causes blinding headaches. After administering the right medication one time, I put on your music, and it almost immediately eased his pain! I was amazed and grateful in ways I can't even express to you! His first comment was, "Mom? Who is playing that music? I love it!" I showed him your album, and he has been a huge fan ever since! We listen to it at home, in the car, at picnics, and any other time we can. :) I have even converted some other Moms of special kids to it, when Mozart failed to calm and placate their kids! (I have nothing against Mozart, mind you!) I just thought you might like to know the "Healing Properties" of your music! I am currently looking for a flute to get my son, as he is howing interest in music for the first time, and he says, "Mom? Do you think if I played the Indian Flute that I could play like Mr. Nakai before I am old?" I don't know if he will or not, but the happiness your music brings him is good enough for me! Thanks so much again for your music, your grace, and your beautiful spirit! Unfortunately, we missed you at Santa Barbara University, and were devastated. Will you be back near Southern California anytime soon? Thank You,
